Centerpiece Tutorial / Three Leaf / Grand Junction Flowers

It's mid-winter, but the sun is shining and I'm gettin' itchy for flowers! I can't hardly wait for the peach blossoms and apple orchards to explode with blooms. Until now, enjoy this pretty step by step photo montage from my friend Kaylan at K Robinson Photography. Hope this helps get you through the last of the coldest days.

Step one

Get a glass of wine. My favorite springtime sip is Kung Fu Girl Riesling by Charles Smith Wines. Plug in some chill tunes, lay out 1 bunch of foliage or greens, 4 bunches of your favorite locally grown blooms and get your snippers ready! Here's what I used this month:

Step Two

Start with your greens and foliage. Use the natural shape of the branches to dictate where your arrangement flows. Staggering and layering different heights so create the skeleton of your piece.

Step Three

Find your largest blooms and insert them in the main focal areas and tallest places of your arrangement.

Step Four

Finish off "holes" with the rest of your most showy flowers, berries or extra greens.

And viola! Such a happy early spring centerpiece. Add in a gorgeous girl in a handmade polka-dot dress from Soil, and it's gorgeousness all around.

Cheers to spring!

Grand Junction Wedding Flowers / Three Leaf Styled Shoot

Autumn has to be my favorite season by far. In our valley, the foliage of aspens, plum trees and orchards dazzle this time of year. This shoot took inspiration from the natural beauties Western Colorado has to offer. Cozy barn spaces, abundant harvests and an untamed mountain vibe. I've been dying to style a locally grown, mountain fall shoot!

Kaylan from K Robinson Photography chose the historical location of cross Orchards, offering homage to our farm to table region and photographed it beautifully. I love when she photographs my flowers!

Our 1940's style hand made letterpress save the dates were designed by the talented Dale Brown of Cargo Collective and hand made by Dave at The Letter Press. I wish you could all feel the quality of their work. Undoubtedly a labor of love...

And then there is the dress! A lacy dream of a gown contributed by Britta at Anneliese Bridal Boutique. Her collections are always classy, sophisticated and just perfect for whatever look a bride would need.
